Part I

Part I was created during my first return to Linares. Raised on stories of this place, I arrived carrying fragments — streets, rivers, childhood homes described but never seen. Walking those streets for the first time collapsed imagination and reality into something heavier than I expected.

The camera became an extension of my parents’ words — mis ojos son tus ojos. Through portraiture, I photographed my grandparents and family members inside the spaces that shaped them. Sitting in rooms I had only imagined, visiting my grandparents’ graves to pay respects in person and on behalf of my father, I began to understand home not as a single location, but as a shared inheritance.

These images document my first physical connection to a place that had previously existed only in memory.
